Liu, was a 19 years-old boy, fell in love with a 29 year-old widowed mother named Xu. At the time, it was unacceptable and immoral for a young man to love an older woman. They escaped to avoid the community.
Starting the second year of living in the mountain, Liu began, and continue for over 50 years, to hand carve the steps so that his wife could get down the mountain easily.
Wholeheartedly
Ever been in friends with someone you wholeheartedly feel for? It’s hard. But I get by.
I find it depressing that many relationships are based off a “checklist” system and not over whether the people in question love each other. No-one’s perfect, and if you truly love someone, you can look past their imperfections or things you disagree with.
